we heard the story of a. judson (missionary to burma) in composition today. following the presentation, the teacher mentioned that in some foreign counties people do not use utensils. em's eyes lit up, a huge smile crossed her lips and she announced, " i've been preparing to go to that country for years!"
This is a quote from friday night. the girls typically have a movie night on fridays.
mad - "dad ( who had left for the teen all-nighter) said we could have a movie night." me - "well, i'm sorry but both of you are sick and you need your rest." mad - "but daddy said and daddy is the boss of you." me - "mommy has veto power over daddy in this matter. so the answer is no." this conversation circled several times.
the next evening when n- put her to bed: mad - "mommy wouldn't let us have a movie night and you said we could." n- "i wasn't thinking and mommy was right. you needed your rest." m- "but you're the boss of mom." apparently, she she holding a grudge.
-em just painted her horse blue with glitter accents while i was lying down. so i'll take some pictures. she did ask although was half asleep.
- the mime went well on friday night. the kids did a fabulous job!!
Looking out from His throne The Father of light and of men Chose to make Himself known And show us the way back to him Speaking wisdom and truth Into the hearts of peasants and kings He began to unveil The Word that would change the course of all things
With eyes wide open all would see
The Word is alive And it cuts like a sword through darkness With a message of life to the hopeless and afraid Breathing life into all who believe The Word is alive And the world and its glories will fade But His truth it will not pass away It remains yesterday and forever the same The Word is alive
Simple strokes on a page Eternity's secrets revealed Carried on from age to age It speaks truth to us even still As the rain falls from heaven Feeds the earth before it returns Lord, let your Word fall on us And bring forth the fruit you deserve
With eyes wide open let us see
The Word is alive And it cuts like a sword through darkness With a message of life to the hopeless and afraid Breathing life into all who believe The Word is alive And the world and its glories will fade But His truth it will not pass away It remains yesterday and forever the same The Word is alive
The Bible was inscribed over a period of 2000 years In times of war and in days of peace By kings, physicians, tax collectors, farmers, fishermen, singers and shepherds The marvel is that a library so perfectly cohesive Could have been produced by such a diverse crowd Over a period of time which stagers the imagination Jesus is it's grand subject, our good is designed and the Glory of God is its end
jessie hasn't left n's closet all day. she's extremely unhappy with our house guest. oddly enough, she could crush max by sitting on him, and easily eat him for breakfast. the low hum you hear is jess even though it's difficult to see her. (for some reason blogger processed the video darker, so it's hard to see jess. sorry.)
IS 60:19-20 19 The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.
20 Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.
