I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay
The last thing I need is to be heard
But to hear what You would say

I'm finding myself in the midst of You
Beyond the music, beyond the noise
All that I need is to be with You
And in the quiet hear Your voice

Word of God speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
To be still and know
That You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness
Word of God speak

what really happened to the little red hen

by em grimm

the dog ate the little red hen.
then he ate the bread.
the cat and the goose died because they starved.
the dog ate a lot of food and he was happy.
the end.

one of last weeks homework assignments for school was to write an alternate ending to a story.
em picked the little red hen.

thoughts

the greatest hindrance to our spiritual development
-indeed the whole hindrance-
is that we allow our passions and desires to control us,
and we do not strive to walk in the way of the saints.
when we meet the least adversity,
we are too quickly dejected and
we turn to other people for comfort,
instead of to God

yesterday we ventured into the rain, sleet and snow to the children's museum. em dug for dino bones while mad (who refuses to go by the dinos b/c of the realistic storm that blows through) went to see clifford, the big red dog. she sat on a stone wall making angry faces at clifford. mad nearly smiled at the huge doll house in playscape until another child walked to close to her and it. they both enoyed becoming super spies and the theatrical production of james and the giant peach by roald dahl. ok mad denies enjoying any of it, but we caught her smiling a couple of times.

upward focus

"with the gift of a whole, entire precious and priceless day before you, ask:
Lord, how do you want me to live today? what is it that you want me to do with this one day that you have given me? what is the work that you want me to accomplish today?"

a return - 29 F

yes, that's right. it's 29 degrees here this morning.
it's also snowing. light, tiny flakes that won't add up to anything but it's still snow. this weather is putting a damper on spring-break.
"this is very strange. it's spring." - em
